The Kismet Team
Katrina Meserve
Executive Director
Katrina grew up on the coast of Maine and in the woods of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom—places that nurtured her lifelong passion for natural landscapes. From paddling and beach days along Maine’s shoreline and hiking Mount Katahdin to exploring Vermont’s fields and forests with her siblings, the outdoors has always been central to her life.
Katrina graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Environmental Science, concentrating in conservation. She has worked with several nonprofit organizations and served as a program coordinator for a Youth Development AmeriCorps program, helping members connect with youth focused nonprofits across New England. She further strengthened her nonprofit experience during her time at the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust. Katrina is thrilled to join the Kismet team and bring her nonprofit experience into the world of youth development and climbing.
Outside of work, Katrina enjoys tending to her garden, exploring the White Mountains, and rock climbing whenever she gets the chance.
Owen McAndrew
Program Manager
Owen is a climber, educator, and guide based out of Jackson, NH. He first discovered climbing while attending college in Northern Vermont, during which time, he was drawn to the physical and problem solving challenges the sport presents. While these aspects of climbing are still appealing, Owen’s fascination has shifted to the vulnerable relationships that are facilitated by small groups stepping outside their comfort zone together.
Owen has worn many hats around the Mount Washington Valley prior to Kismet. Most recently, these include working as a public elementary school educator, an avalanche instructor, and a climbing instructor with a focus on youth programs. His most memorable days are the one’s spent with people and he can’t wait for the next chapter with Kismet.
Zoë Eisenberg
Program and Office Coordinator
Born and raised in the Mt. Washington Valley, Zoë grew up climbing, skiing, and exploring the outdoors. After studying Psychology and Education at Bates College, she was led to Mid-Coast Maine to work as a Leadership Education Facilitator for Elementary and Middle school students, and then returned home to teach second grade and Outdoor Education at the Northeast Woodland School. These days, she’s settled in Jackson, NH, where she spends as much time as possible trail running, climbing rocks, and skiing when the snow flies. She’s also been reconnecting with her love for art - so chances are she’s carrying a knitting project or paints wherever she goes.
Throughout her life, moving around outside has been a defining thread, introducing her to new friends and places, and building confidence through learning new skills. She credits her childhood for shaping this connection and fueling her passion for sharing those opportunities with others.
