KISMET ROCK FOUNDATION GEARS UP FOR ITS TENTH SEASON
Mountain Hardwear Shows Support with Cash and Equipment

North Conway, New Hampshire – July 6 – It has been a wet spring in New England, and, thanks to Mountain Hardwear, Kismet Rock Foundation will be prepared if the rainy forecast continues when the program season commences on July 12.

In addition to a recent contribution of $3,500 in conjunction with their ‘Send A Kid to Camp’ promotion, Mountain Hardwear, of Richmond, CA, also donated sixteen brand new Epic rain jackets for use in Kismet’s summertime educational rock climbing programs.

“Mountain Hardwear values the importance of education outside of the classroom,” said Ted Wroblewski, chair of Kismet’s Board of Directors. “Their efforts on behalf of Kismet and the other nine summer programs funded through the ‘Send a Kid to Camp’ initiative are so appreciated.”

Kismet Rock Foundation, based in North Conway, New Hampshire, enhances the development of well-functioning but economically disadvantaged children by providing access to the immense value of a comprehensive education in technical rock climbing. By developing their potential, Kismet prepares students to positively contribute to their communities and their culture throughout their lives.

Thanks to new partnerships like Mountain Hardwear and the continuing support of its long term donors, Kismet will be expanding to serve the Portland, Maine public school system and 30% more children overall this summer.

Kismet’s Session One students will arrive in North Conway from Portland ME, Boston MA, Manchester NH and Bartlett NH on July 12. Program updates will be posted on the Kismet news blog throughout the seven-week program season, which concludes August 29: http://www.kismetrockfoundation.org/news/.

“We are all ready for a break from this rainy weather,” says Wroblewski, “but we are glad to know we will be prepared to face the elements if it doesn’t, and thankful to Mountain Hardwear for their additional contribution of rain jackets for our students.”
